Stellenbosch Department of Economics Masters student Tiaan de Swardt has received a two-year Masters bursary to investigate the social mobility of Huguenot settlers in the eighteenth century Cape Colony. His two-year bursary is sponsored by the Huguenot Society of South Africa. De Swardt will use the newly transcribed tax censuses of the Cape Panel project.
